Editorial – January 2010

Happy New Year to all our readers!

In this edition of Boss News, the first of a new decade, we present more of the latest sector news for your scrutiny. To assist you in gaining a quick snapshot of what is new in the industry, we have, as usual, aimed at the pithy excerpt rather than long and complicated prose. Those requiring a more in depth perusal can, of course, follow the links to the full press releases.

Our senior partners, once again give their appraisal of activity in the sector, drawing some interesting conclusions regarding developments in the various regions around the globe. It is now generally accepted that the global economy is recovering from the recession of the last two years. What makes interesting reading is where the analysts predict the greatest improvements will take place over the next year. To learn more of the unfolding developments worldwide in the BPO, BPM and ECM sectors and the events that have precipitated them, read the partners’ regional updates.

As a special addition this month, we offer, for your attention and assistance, a Blue Paper from Chris Ryan, ECM expert and President of Fusion Marketing Partners, LLC, entitled, ‘Six Steps to Position Your Company for Greatness’. Chris discusses the critical area of branding strategy for organisations who are ultimately aiming to be acquired. This is a ‘must read’ for any company considering acquisition as a future scenario! Please use the link to request this highly informative Blue Paper.

Mark Edwards, CEO of Document Boss continues to inform through his blog, M&A Whispers, which is aimed at senior management in the ECM, BPO and BPM sectors and contrives to give its readers a superior vantage point from which to analyse M&A events in the sector as they unfurl.

We trust you will find the first edition of 2010 both useful and informative and welcome your comments.

Kind regards,
Isabel Ross-Edwards
