Infosys BPO signs definitive agreement to acquire US-based insurance Business Process Solutions Provider
Bangalore, India - November 2009 - Infosys BPO Limited, the business processing outsourcing subsidiary of Infosys Technologies, has announced the signing of a definitive agreement to acquire all of the outstanding interests of McCamish Systems LLC, a business process solutions provider, based in Atlanta, Georgia in the United States. The acquisition is expected to be completed later this year, subject to the satisfaction of certain closing conditions. The upfront consideration for the deal is USD 38 million with up to an additional USD 20 million payable to the sellers if McCamish Systems achieves certain financial targets in the future. The acquisition is expected to enhance Infosys’ capability to deliver end-to-end business solutions for the insurance and financial services industries. Read more »

Canon to acquire Océ to create global presence in the printing industry
The Netherlands - November 2009 - Canon and Océ have announced that they have reached conditional agreement to combine their printing activities through a fully self-funded, public cash offer by Canon for all the Shares of Océ. The offer price of € 8.60 per Share of Océ represents a premium of 70% over the closing share price of Friday 13 November 2009 and 137% to the average closing price of Océ’s Shares over the last 12 months. The Offer values 100% of the issued and outstanding Shares of Océ at approximately € 730 million. Read more »

e.law completes acquisition of CCH Workflow Solutions
Sydney, Australia - November 2009 - e.law has completed its acquisition of the business assets of CCH Workflow Solutions from Wolters Kluwer. The merged businesses complement each other and clients will benefit both from the combined expertise of staff as well as from the integrated businesses, given that all areas of evidence collection and presentation will now be covered by the one solutions provider. Software AG reports further profitable growth in the third quarter 2009
Darmstadt, Germany - November 2009 - Software AG has again reported an increase in revenue and earnings for the third quarter of 2009. Group revenue grew during the quarter by 19 percent year-on-year to €214 million. In the same period, product revenue increased by 4 percent to €143 million and Consulting by 66 percent to €70 million. Operating results (EBIT) grew by 16 percent to €56 million and net income to €38 million, up 23 percent. The EBIT margin for the third quarter at 26.4 percent closely matched the record 27 percent reported in Q3, 2008. Earnings per share in the quarter rose 25 percent to €1.35 (€1.08 in 2008). The consolidation of IDS Scheer, as of August 20 2009, had a positive net impact on revenue; €39 million and net income; €0.4 million. Read more »

EU Public Sector e-Procurement Initiative delivers first phase of Standard e-Procurement Platform Project
A common standard for public sector e-procurement has come a step closer, enabling the pan-European exchange of electronic invoices and other business documents between the public and private sector. Basware, purchase-to-pay provider and the key technical advisor on e-procurement  for the Ministry of Finance in Finland, have worked together to develop the technical specification and proof of concept for the for Pan European Public Procurement On-line (PEPPOL) platform which is designed to help European companies participate electronically on equal terms in EU-wide public sector competitive bidding.

Etisalat and Cordys to introduce Cloud marketplace in UAE
Dubai, UAE and Putten - The Netherlands - October 2009 – Etisalat and Cordys, a provider of software for business process innovation, have announced an alliance to develop and market the Etisalat Cloud Marketplace in the UAE. The platform will allow companies of any size to find and deploy IT services on a pay-per-use basis, through applications developed by Independent Software Vendors (ISVs).

Luxembourg – November 2009 - Philippe Gaillard has joined euroscript International S.A. as Chief Sales Officer on November 1, 2009. He will be responsible for group sales, international business development as well as partner and contract management. Philippe succeeds Benoît Laxenaire who will maintain his focus on major account development as Vice President Sales. Benoît will strengthen the French management team by joining the French board of directors. Cap Gemini reiterates its profitability targets for 2009
Paris – November 2009 - The decline in the economic environment in the third quarter fuelled a sharp reduction in corporate IT spending. Against this challenging backdrop, the Capgemini Group reported consolidated revenues of €1,946 million, down 9.0% on a like-for-like basis versus third quarter 2008. Like-for-like, Capgemini’s revenues for fourth-quarter 2009 should experience a similar decline to that recorded in the three months to September 30. However, thanks to its extremely tight rein on costs, the Group is able to confirm its operating margin guidance of around 7% for full-year 2009. Read more »

Novell, Inc. partners with Logica for bringing combined governance, risk and compliance offering with SAP
Reading, Uk - November 2009 - Novell, Inc. and Logica Management Consulting, the consulting arm of IT and business services company, Logica, have announced their partnership for bringing a combined governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) offering with SAP to the market. The partnership, announced at the SAP GRC 2009 Conference, enables Logica, to provide an enterprise-wide risk management approach. Both Novell and Logica are SAP-certified partners.

Paris, France - November 2009 - TIBCO Software Inc. has announced that Hub télécom, operator and integrator of business solutions, has selected TIBCO Software Inc. to develop an operated and universal applications platform for collecting and processing RFID identification data.
