ECM Zulu's

The Zulu Principle

For those of you not familiar with the Zulu
principle, let me explain further.

Editorial – March 2010

Welcome to the March edition of Boss News. All the signs are that ‘Spring has most definitely sprung’ here in the UK, with fresh green shoots sprouting up all over. In parallel with this spirit of regeneration, activity within the sector is being ramped up accordingly. Amongst the news items you will note considerable M&A activity, as companies extend partnerships by merging or acquire organisations to augment their existing offerings.

CeBIT – Still an important networking event in the ECM/BPM sector.

Germany is a country renowned for its large and successful business exhibitions, which are popular with global exhibitors and their clients alike. Events such as ‘DMS’, held annually in Cologne and ‘Systems’ in Munich, still attract a large proportion of ECM/BPM and document processing vendors. CeBIT in Hannover, however, is still regarded as by far the most important event.

Changing conditions in ECM sales: elephant hunting or micro deals?

I’d like to share a story with you about a friend of mine who operates in a completely different industry. His story made me think…

This friend, let’s call him Stefan, currently sells fashion apparel to fashion stores, one and a half years in advance of when it can be purchased in the stores.
He moved agencies 3 years ago and had to start from scratch with a new fashion line from another company. However, he had a good network of approximately 400 fashion shops who knew him well.

Industry insights on Sharepoint

SharePoint is an often-discussed topic in the ECM Sector today. Some key facts over the past several years clearly show why this is so:

• By mid-2007, SharePoint was experiencing 35% year to year growth, and had revenues in excess of $800 million

• In early 2008, Chairman Bill Gates announced that SharePoint was the fastest-growing product ever in Microsoft history and he expected sales of over 100 million licenses by mid-2008
