Document Boss was honored to attend the recent Orbograph Solutions Conference, held in my hometown of Henderson, Nevada, on the South Strip outside of Las Vegas. Their conference is an example of an increasing trend for company’s to stage their own user events and avoid large exhibits at other, broader trade shows.
Orbograph provides key software solutions for check processing and forms processing applications. Many of the attendees to their event were from the financial sector, which is a prime vertical market for Orbograph. The event was hosted by Joe Gregory, VP of Marketing, who had a great rapport with and knowledge of the attendees. Barry Cohen, the General Manager of Orbograph, and Avikam Baltsan, General Manager and a founder, also played key roles and made themselves available at all times during the event.
After attending the event, it is clear that Orbograph is showing real leadership in the sector. Despite the economy and other challenges, they have chosen to rise above it and show their customers and prospect that they are taking the lead in many ways. Some things Document Boss feels they are doing right include:
• Celebrating their customers - by holding a high quality event directed towards educating their customers on many areas of business
• Choosing a venue that enabled them to have excellent interaction during the event
• Creating an open atmosphere for discussion between company attendees at all events - both formal sessions and at dinners and other events
• Not holding attendees “hostage” in the headquarters hotel, but having events which gave them a better look at and feel for Las Vegas
• Creating interactive panel sessions and roundtables, allowing questions in all sessions.
• Bringing in guest speakers, including the Keynote Speaker, Robert Siciliano, a very well known expert on bank fraud and security theft.
Overall, Document Boss believes more companies the ECM, BPM and BPO sectors would benefit by showing the leadership that Orbograph showed in this event.
