Solid growth reported in AsiaPac for Saas Enterprise Content & Collaboration applications

"Spending on SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) in Asia (excluding Japan) is set to experience 46% growth between 2008 and 2012, with the market estimated to be US$2.25 billion in 2012", says the latest research study by Springboard Research, a leading innovator in the IT Market Research industry.  "Although CRM solutions remain the most widely deployed SaaS applications, Content & Collaboration surpassed CRM in terms of overall market size in Asia Pacific region".

According to Michael Barnes, VP of Software research at Springboard Research  "SaaS is continuing to cannibalise on premise (software) applications with 50% of 530 survey respondents saying that they evaluated an on-premise application before deciding on a SaaS solution,with 35% reporting they had replaced an on-premise solution with SaaS".  Key drivers for the increasing adoption ofSaaS listed by Springboard include:

                        - Simplicity, convenience &ease ofuse
                        - Lower TCO
                        - Simplified maintenance & easy access to latest versions, and
                        - Drastic reduction in implementation time
