"Challenges" Interview
Alan Trefler, CEO, Pegasystems

New Regions to Explore In North Africa
   by Geert Kruiter

As we return from summer recess for the final quarter of the year, a Boss News full of the latest ECM/Information Management news and views awaits your perusal. OpenText’s acquisition of Dell EMC’s Enterprise Content Division for $1.62 billion is the big news this month as the industry has long pondered what would become of Documentum.

In addition, this month, we are delighted to feature an interview with Alan Trefler, CEO and founder of Pegasystems. This is the second interview in our "Challenges” series, (first was Mark Barrenechea, CEO, OpenText) where we invite some of the most senior people in our sector to share the personal and business challenges they have faced and how they have overcome them.

Also in this month’s issue of Boss News, Geert Kruiter shares his perception of the upcoming North African market and why he thinks the time is right for investment in this burgeoning region.

We also feature an article, "David takes on Goliath as M&A Boutiques grab increasing market share from the Big Banks” examining the rationale behind the increasing trend for M&A boutiques to advise on some of the biggest deals in the sector, in addition to securing their own deals - and banking some of the top commissions in the process.

Mark Edwards’ blog this month informs about the virtues of investing in Lego sets - Yes, the kids’ toy kind! - versus investing in your business to increase its equity value. Mark is also offering a free 30- minute telephone consultation for business leaders who would like to learn more about increasing. observations.

We hope you enjoy this month’s edition of Boss News and find it informative. Please feel free to share your feedback with us.

We wish you all a healthy and prosperous month.

Kind regards,
Isabel Ross-Edwards - Editor
